Mimic Octopus

Mythical

Passive Ability

Mimicry:

Every ~20m mimics and copies an ability from another pet and performs its ability!

How to get

Overview

The Mimic Octopus is a mythical pet added during the Summer Harvest Event, which can be obtained from the Paradise Egg.

How It Works

Mimicry: Every ~20m, it mimics and copies an ability from another pet (in player garden) and performs its ability!

But if a Mimic Octopus copies a pet with two abilities, it will only perform the first ability.

The copied pet's cooldown isn't affected.

Cannot mimic French Fry Ferret, Green Bean , and other Mimic Octopuses.

Mimic Octopus Value

Wondering how much Mimic Octopus is worth? Below is the current market value for the pet and its Huge variant.

Value

Huge Value
150

Best For

  • Ability multiplication strategy - copy high-value pet abilities every 20 minutes
  • Multi-ability garden setups - leverage expensive pets without owning duplicates
  • Meta pet synergy - mimic Kitsune, Raccoon, T-Rex abilities
  • Mythical rarity pet - 1% hatch rate from Paradise Egg but extremely versatile

Pro Strategies

High-Value Target Selection

  • Position Mimic Octopus in gardens with your most expensive pets for maximum value copying. Priority targets: Kitsune (theft), Raccoon (theft), T-Rex (mutation spreading), Lobster Thermidor (Molten/Meteoric), and Dragonfly (Gold mutations).

Ability Cycling Strategy

  • Create ability cycling setups where Mimic Octopus copies different pets each 20-minute cycle. Since it randomly selects abilities, having 3-4 high-value pets increases chances of copying valuable abilities. Remove low-value pets to improve targeting odds.

Duplicate Effect Creation

  • Use Mimic Octopus to effectively double rare abilities without owning multiple expensive pets. For example, with one Kitsune + Mimic Octopus, you get theft attempts every 11 minutes (Kitsune) + every 20 minutes (when Octopus copies), significantly increasing theft frequency.

Strategic Pet Arrangement

  • Arrange your garden so incompatible pets (like French Fry Ferret, Green Bean, other Mimic Octopus) are stored when not needed. This ensures Mimic Octopus only has access to beneficial abilities to copy, maximizing value from each activation.

Alternatives

budget: Single high-value pet without copying

Cost: Lower ability frequency vs enhanced frequency through mimicry

Tradeoff: Standard cooldowns vs potential double activation rates

Common Mistakes

  • Including French Fry Ferret, Green Bean, or other Mimic Octopus (cannot be copied)
  • Having too many low-value pets (reduces chance of copying valuable abilities)
  • Not positioning near highest-value pets for optimal targeting
  • Forgetting that copied pet cooldowns are unaffected - both can activate simultaneously

Advanced Tips

  • For pets with dual abilities, Mimic Octopus only copies the first ability
  • Original pet cooldowns are not affected - both can trigger in same timeframe
  • Works best with high-cooldown pets where extra activations provide maximum value
  • Stack multiple Mimic Octopus for even higher ability copying frequency

Appearance

The Mimic Octopus has a cube-shaped head with square yellow eyes and a mischievous smile. It has six short blocky tentacles and a dark gray body, giving it a robotic, pixelated look. Its unique design makes it stand out among other pets.

1. Despite having 1% chance from the Paradise Egg, Mimic Octopus’s tier is Mythical, not Divine unlike Raccoon, Queen Bee, Dragonfly, or Red Fox.

2. Mimic Octopus's AI breaks whenever it tries copying a Triceratops. Mimic Octopus freezes in place unable to do anything despite saying ready on the cooldown.
